After taking the vehicle to my mechanic he really didn't go in to any details, just told me that the car was "good to go" and to enjoy it. The few bucks spent now could save you a lot down the road, keep you away from the "gotcha's" and you will know what is going to be going bad within the next few months.To be honest, he's just a generic mechanic that I've been going to for years, I doubt he specializes in German vehicles. It might be worth taking it to an Audi dealer and letting them put the car through a CPO inspection. While he may be good, lord know mine is, he still won't know what to look for to keep you from the "gotcha's" that can happen. It's a comfortable, sophisticated, stylish, genuine off-roader and I wouldn't swap it, even for a Range Rover, but it's not cheap to run, especially with a 2.7 petrol engine. I like to trek,ski, cycle etc and everything goes in with space left over. It's a marvellous load carrier and it fits in really well with an active lifestyle. It's a first generation Allroad and I think it looks the part - bulletproof, but stylish- much more so than the new versions.
The Quattro system with it's ride settings is brilliant and the level of equipment is second to none. I've owned it for seven years and it's taken me all over the continent in all weathers.

It's suffered lots of electrical glitches- sat nav mast has failed, window motor failed, parking sensors failed and the engine management software failed, but nothing stops the car from moving! It's a beast and I love the power output, the torque and the ride quality. This is the best car I've owned- and the most expensive one to run.
